Daily Skin Care Routine Tips: Cleansing, Toning, Sunscreen
1
Eating a balanced diet
Eating a balanced diet having all vital nutrients - like carbohydrates, proteins, fats and fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, in the right proportion, is essential for good healthy skin.2
VITAMIN C IS THE KEY
One of the most important vitamins to your skin's overall health is vitamin C, which plays a key role in the production of collagen in your skin. Vitamin C is an antioxidant. It prevents enzymes in your body from creating excessive amounts of melanin in response to a skin injury such as over-exposure to sunlight.3
DRINK LOTS OF WATER
Drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday. It helps to flush out toxins through sweat and urination. It improves skin complexion, moisturizes your skin and keeps it fresh, soft, glowing and smooth. It also helps you get rid of wrinkles! This makes it the best anti-aging treatment around!4
SUN PROTECTION
Sun protection is the key factor for decreasing melasma. Carry an umbrella or wear a broad brimmed hat. Use broad spectrum sunscreens that protect against UV-A and UV-B radiation. Sunscreens should be worn daily, whether one is indoors or outdoors.5
CLEANSE - TONE - MOISTURISE
Cleansing your skin is extremely important as it opens up the pores on your face and removes dirt, oil and perspiration. Often this is the reason for uneven skin. Toning will tighten the open pores, leading to a firmer, refreshed skin. Moisturising then rehydrates the skin, softening and nourishing it for a healthy glow.6
EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN
kin is constantly changing, it renews itself regularly and gets rid of the dead skin cells, many of which don't always fall off of your body. It's up to us to remove the dead skin cells regularly by exfoliating. By not removing the dead skin cells, our complexion can take on a dull appearance.7
SPECIAL CARE FOR EYES AND LIPS
You will be surprised to know that our lips unlike most part of our body do not have any melanin pigment to protect them. Lips are covered on the outside by a thin layer of skin and on the inside by virtually transparent mucous membranes. Therefore it is necessary to take care of our lips to avoid darkening of lips. Also, the skin around the eye can be 1/10th as thick as the skin on the rest of the face.
