What causes Skin Ageing?

You may already know some of these, but let's take a closer look to understand them better.
Following are some of the causes of aging :-
Anti-Aging Food/Diet
Your diet plays a huge role in your skin's ageing. It can slowdown or fast-track the process. So, while you may not be able to control your hormones and genes, your diet is something well within your control. Make your diet as colourful as you possibly can. Add plenty of colourful fruits and green, leafy veggies that are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. If needed, even add a multivitamin supplement to boost your diet.
Alcohol causes puffiness and wrinkles
As much as you might enjoy a night out with the girls, it’s time to start cutting back on those cosmopolitans. Alcohol tends to cause puffiness around the face, and when it wears off, it leaves your skin stretched, wrinkled and dehydrated. Next time, opt for a single glass of red wine, so you can chill with your girlfriends and still look fabulous in the morning.
Sun causes wrinkles and damages collagen & elastin in the skin
While the sun provides your body with essential vitamin D nutrients, it is important to wear a good sunscreen before going out to protect your skin against the harmful effects of sun exposure. The sun causes your skin to wrinkle and can damage the collagen and elastin in your skin; two proteins that keep the skin strong, supple and elastic. UV radiation can also damage the DNA in your skin, causing gene mutation that can lead to skin cancer. What sunscreen does is that it scatters the light away from the skin and acts as a shield that absorbs UV rays so that the skin doesn’t.
Smoking wrinkles your skin
Smoking wrinkles your skin and adds a few years to your face. It constricts the capillaries in your body, reducing blood flow to your face and withholding essential oxygen supply. Smoking also damages the structure of collagen and elastin, resulting in sagginess. While quitting may be hard, we encourage you not to give up trying. Your skin will thank you for it.
Skin aging sue to stress
Given our lifestyle, stress and worry are never in short supply. But keep in mind that all this stress is marking up your face; frowning, squinting and other expressions of worry can leave permanent lines on your face. A little bit of yoga and meditation can go a long way in easing stress and keeping the signs of ageing at bay.
