Melasma, Photoaging, Tanning & PIH Pigmentation Treatment

Melasma, Photoaging, Tanning & PIH Pigmentation Treatment

Have you been battling obstinate dark spots on your skin that refuse to go away? Most people seek several different treatments to get rid of this malady and yet fail to find a solution.

One of the most common and persistent concerns that dermatologists encounter these days is hyperpigmentation.

At the International Pigment Cell Conference, which was held from 3rd to 7th September in Singapore this year, I spoke extensively about a new, revolutionary laser technology that has created ripples in the world of pigment therapy. The Q-Switched NdYAG Laser, also known as the Insta-Clarity laser service is an innovative technology used to treat different types of hyperpigmentation and is fast becoming one of the most popular tools to combat this problem.

Results from 473 Indian cases of skin conditions ranging from mild discolouration and pigmentation to the more stubborn melasma and PIH have proved that this laser treatment is the perfect answer for skin-related ailments.

Hyperpigmentation treatment is not confined to one skin type and can affect people in different forms. Some of the most common indicators are:

Photoaging (sun-damaged skin)

Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)

and there are several therapies in the form of products, drugs, peels and laser service that can be combined to concoct the perfect treatment to tackle the problem. You can read more on hyperpigmentation and its types here. Let’s dissect each one of these, basis the cases we handled:

  • Skin Rejuvenation: The Q-switched laser is extremely beneficial for skin rejuvenation and excellent for those looking to improve their skin condition, eliminate brown spots and blemishes. The laser energy works its way in short bursts to lighten, brighten and tighten the skin while bleaching hair in order to achieve complete laser toning.

Results: This treatment is safe for those with sensitive skin and suited for dark skinned patients as well. Out of 252 cases of skin rejuvenation, 56 percent of the clients were extremely satisfied and rated the process as good or excellent.

  • Melasma is a condition caused by overproduction of melanin which creates blotchy brown patches on the face.

Results: The Q-switched laser improves melasma by 40 to 50 percent and for optimal results it is best to use the service combined with peels – the peels are done prior to the laser sessions to take care of the upper most layer of the skin. We received exceptional feedback from 74 Melasma cases, out of which over 65% percen rated the treatment as good & excellent. Know about Melasma treatment available at kaya

  • Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) surfaces as spots or large patches on the body that occur as a result of previous inflammation or injury to the skin.

Results: The Q-switched method has proven to be one of the best treatments for this condition and once the PIH fades away, maintenance sessions are no longer required.  This procedure has produced great results for PIH and other pigmentation related concerns as well, where, out of 140 patients treated, over 70 percent have rated this treatment to be good & excellent.

The Q-switched laser treatment is a quick, relatively painless and easy procedure that delivers flawless complexion by erasing the blemishes that mar your skin. This new technology has opened doors to a whole new world of therapy for unwanted skin pigmentation to pave the path for a clear and radiant future.
